Glass Filter Media
High-efficiency, non-caking water treatment filter media with high filtration precision and excellent permeability.

1. Glass Filter Media
Product Overview
Glass Filter Media is a product developed by our company. It undergoes over ten rigorous processes, including washing, disinfection, sorting, crushing, and sieving. Compared to traditional quartz sand media, it offers higher filtration precision, superior permeability, easier backwashing, and reduced water and energy consumption. It also resists clogging during long-term use.
Key Features
The specific gravity of glass media is approximately 70% that of traditional quartz sand. For the same tank volume, the fill weight requires only 70% of that of quartz sand, significantly reducing the operating weight of the filter. Lower specific gravity facilitates backwashing, resulting in shorter backwash cycles and reduced water consumption, which substantially lowers operational costs.
Glass media features a smooth surface that resists biofouling, algae growth, and mold development. This reduces chemical usage, making the system more eco-friendly and healthy.
The angular structure and high silica content of glass media effectively capture fine contaminants and particles, removing over 40% more pollutants than traditional media for cleaner, clearer water.

Density is 1.26g/cm³. Calculate the fill quantity based on the filter tank volume to directly replace the original quartz sand media.
II. AFM Active Filter Media

Product Overview
Activated Filter Media is our latest product, developed by modifying our existing Glass Filter Media through a multi-step chemical activation process to create a new type of activated and modified glass filter media.
Key Features
After activation and modification, the glass filter media developed a multi-molecular layer on its surface, enhancing hydrophobicity. The specific surface area increased from 0.326m²/g to 3.451m²/g, while the isoelectric point pH shifted from 9.2 to 9.8. In comparison, another filter media had a specific surface area of only 0.293m²/g and an isoelectric point pH of only 1.
Using active filtration media to treat slightly polluted raw water, under conditions of influent turbidity at 4 NTU, humic acid concentration at 5 mg/L, and fine particle content (2–180 μm) at 9551 particles/mL, the removal rates achieved by the active filtration media were 62.5% for turbidity, 67% for humic acid, and 66% for fine particles. In contrast, the corresponding removal rates for another type of filter media were only 37.5%, 55%, and 10%.
